RE: An unexpected network error occurred.

Hi,

this error is quite common if you place your data-directoy onto a file-server. (as most people do).

The cause is that if Lotus Notes does not have for even a small period of time access to his data folder. The problem is that even after the access is restored Notes wont recover from this and will show you this error. (The user cant even close Notes and has to shut down it through the Task-Manager)
You can reproduce this error if you unplugg you network cable for a second while running Notes.

The problem is usually in a slow LAN and occurs randomly for the user. The only solution which I know of is to maintain a reliable LAN connection to your file server.
As far as I know no special settings in Notes itself can get you rid of this error.

Hope this helps.

Hynek
